Yamaha GP, FX & EX ECU Tune - WaveRunner Reflash (2016+)

Yamaha GP, FX & EX ECU Tuning by Cabrera Motorsports
Yamaha's 2016+ WaveRunners respond hard to a proper calibration. Whether you ride a GP1800R SVHO, an FX cruiser, or an EX, the factory ECU holds the engine back with speed limiters, throttle delays, and conservative fueling. A CMS custom tune removes those limits with no engine work required.
➕ What a CMS Yamaha Tune Does
- Factory speed limiter removed. Ride to your ski's true top speed instead of the factory cap.
- Sharper throttle response. Factory throttle delays and torque limiters are eliminated for instant response off the line.
- Optimized fueling and RPM limits. Calibrated for your fuel and your setup, stock or modified.
We ride and race these exact setups on our own builds. We race what we sell!
🏄 Models We Tune
Yamaha GP1800R (SVHO & HO)
The GP1800R is the benchmark of the performance WaveRunner world, and it's where a tune makes the biggest impression. We calibrate both the supercharged SVHO 1.8L and the naturally aspirated HO, stock or with bolt-ons. Tell us your modifications in the configurator and the tune is built for them.
Yamaha FX Series (SVHO, HO & Cruiser)
The FX shares the GP's engines in a bigger hull. A tune wakes up the FX SVHO and FX HO with sharper response and the limiters gone, whether you ride solo or loaded for a long day on the water.
Yamaha EX Series (EX, EX Deluxe, EXR)
The EX runs the TR-1 1,049cc engine, the same platform as the 2021+ SuperJet, and it leaves plenty on the table from the factory. A tune is the best dollar-for-dollar upgrade you can make on an EX.
⛽ Fuel Options
93 octane pump gas is the right tune for most riders. Fill up at any station and ride. For race builds, we also calibrate for AVGAS, VP MS109, VP MS103, and Ignite E85 race fuels. Select your fuel in the configurator.
⚙️ Two Ways to Flash Your Yamaha

❓ FAQs
Do you tune modified engines?
Yes. The configurator asks whether your engine is stock or has internal modifications, and the calibration is built for your actual setup.
How much faster will my ski be?
Real-world results depend on your ski's condition, load, and water conditions, so we don't promise a specific number. We calibrate each tune to get the most out of your ski safely on your chosen fuel.
Can I go back to stock?
Yes. With the RTD your stock calibration is backed up and you can restore it anytime. Mail-in customers can request a return to stock.
What about the SuperJet and JetBlaster?
We tune those too. The 2021+ SuperJet and JetBlaster run the same TR-1 platform as the EX. See our SuperJet ECU tuning page or select your model in the configurator.
Is my warranty affected?
ECU modifications can affect factory warranty coverage. Most of our customers are past warranty or accept the trade for the performance.
